The program featured an interview with the legendary screenwriter of TAXI DRIVER, RAGING BULL and THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST. The informal conversation covers a wide range of personal and professional topics including Mr. Schrader’s strict Calvinistic upbringing, his career as a film critic discovered by Pauline Kael, his famous collaborations with Martin Scorsese, his own body of work as a film director, and his reflections on the new era of cinema forever changed by digital technologies and internet.
The program also featured rare photographs from
Mr. Schrader’s personal archive and has been broadcast multiple times by Philadelphia’s DUTV (Channel 54).

“One of the great writers of our time” (San Francisco Chronicle) whose novels have been translated into thirty-five languages and the acclaimed screenwriter of SMOKE (for which Mr. Auster won the Independent Spirit Award for best first screenplay and the Silver Bear from the Berlin Film Festival) speaks about his latest film, THE INNER LIFE OF MARTIN FROST which Mr. Auster wrote and directed. This “gorgeous and mysterious film” (Wim Wenders) stars David Thewlis, Irene Jacob, Michael Imperioli and Sophie Auster.
